About

Zach Thorne

My day job consists of working on a team that supports a wide variety of enterprise systems including on-premises and public cloud environments. A snapshot of the technology includes a variety of VMware products, Puppet, Ansible, Windows OS and Active Directory, RHEL, OpenShift, and Azure Kubernetes Service, just to name a few.

What I hope to show in my blog is that automation, Cloud Native technologies including Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code is the way of the future. I have been very fortunate to be able to forge my own journey at my employer by learning on the job but also spending some time on my own to reinforce concepts, try new things, listening to podcasts and attending various user groups to understand where the tech industry is going.

I learned a lot by trial and error, reading and watching various examples, reading documentation, reaching out on Slack channels, and talking to others. My goal with the blog is to help those along who may just need a jump start, some clarification, or just another perspective on how to do something. The tech industry is ever changing and evolving so if I can help the community as much as they have for me.
